RE: Sponsorship for Central Youth Baseball
Dear Supporter,
We represent the Central Youth League, more commonly known as
Central Cal Ripken Baseball. Many of you may have played ball
here at Archie Andersen Park as youngsters and hopefully have
pleasant memories. Whether you played your youth baseball at
Central, or in some other league, you know the value of
cooperation and competition that comes from team sports. We
are asking for your financial help to continue this important
part of our children’s upbringing.
Our program has run successfully at Archie Andersen Park (aka
Highland Park) many years. Because we believe that every kid
should have the opportunity to play baseball, we waive
registration fees when necessary. All families, though, are
expected to help in the concession stand, working on the
fields, or in whatever way they can.
We are chartered by the national Babe Ruth Baseball
organization, which has changed the name of our program to
Cal Ripken Baseball. Please be assured that our program, by
either name, remains the Central Youth League.
Our budget currently is approximately $40,000.00 per year. A
portion of this total is covered by registration fees, our
fund-raising event, and the proceeds of our concession stand.
However, our league cannot succeed without the generous
support of the community, in the form of team sponsorships,
signboard advertising, and donations.
We realize that we are asking for your financial support
early for a season that won’t begin until spring, but we hope
our timing will allow you to budget for the year 2009.
Attached is a price schedule for team sponsorships and
signboards. Team sponsorships are assigned to past sponsors
first, but there are generally openings each year as
businesses find it necessary to change their donations. The
signboards are 4-by-8 foot signs that are attached to
outfield fences, which the league will be responsible for
having produced with your approval. If your business is
unable to afford a team sponsorship or signboard, we would
appreciate any contribution you might make.

non-profit, and any contributions are fully tax-deductible. Our
